Purposeful Planning is a process that enables us to achieve our goals effectively and efficiently; it is something I’ve always leaned on in developing The Dailey Method and something I highly benefit from when incorporated into my daily life. Purposeful Planning involves developing strategies to reach a desired outcome, breaking it down into smaller, more manageable steps, and reviewing our progress to ensure success. In a world full of activities, schedules, and tasks, finding ways to manage it all helps create the balance we all desire.

In my personal life, I’ve noticed that without Purposeful Planning, I can easily get lost in the details and lose sight of the bigger picture and my priorities. Planning purposefully, with my goals in mind, helps me stay focused on my priorities and allows me to work towards them in a structured and organized way.

In all the years of The Dailey method, Purposeful Planning has been utilized to achieve student and teacher success. From our choreography calendar to the constant focus on alignment it is all purposefully planned out to ensure that we are setting you up to not only be successful in each and every class but also to deliver you full body strength, stretching and mobility. Purposeful Planning is essential to creating effective and engaging barre classes.

Purposeful Planning also helps me:
Identify potential obstacles that may arise along the way. By anticipating these obstacles, I can develop strategies to overcome them.
Stay motivated and committed to the task at hand. I have a clear sense of direction and purpose, which can be a powerful motivator.

Creating a purposeful plan involves several steps, including:
Defining your why. What do you want to achieve, and why is it important? Be specific and clear about what you want to accomplish. Write it down!
Break it down into smaller, more manageable steps. This will help you stay focused and make progress toward your goal. I keep a running list of what are my priorities to accomplish each day and get great satisfaction in crossing them off. It allows me to not get lost on the little things and focus on the most important tasks at hand.
Consider potential obstacles and challenges that may arise along the way. Consider how you can overcome these obstacles and develop contingency plans for dealing with them.
Establish a timeline for achieving your goal. Consider deadlines, milestones, and other important dates. Be realistic and flexible, and adjust your timeline as necessary. Being adaptable can help you with success.
Review your plan and track progress against your objectives. Adjust as necessary to ensure you stay on track and achieve your goal.

Purposeful Planning has helped me immensely in both my personal life and in The Dailey Method. I challenge you to utilize the tools of Purposeful Planning to help you stay focused and progress toward your goals.

Love,

Jill
