Before we turn the page to a new year, I want to take a moment with you, not to set goals, not to make resolutions, but to acknowledge the progress you and your body have made this year.
Our bodies carry a lot: our families, our work, our routines, our emotions, our stress, our joy. And through it all, you have continued to show up, in big ways and small ways, and that is worth celebrating.
Sometimes progress looks like a breakthrough moment, a posture cue that suddenly makes sense, a new level of strength in thigh work, the ability to hold a plank with more ease.
But just as often, progress can be quiet:
- Choosing 10 minutes of movement instead of none
- Letting go of the “perfect” class and choosing the one that supports your energy
- Feeling more at home in your body
These moments aren’t always loud, but they matter. My hope is that when you look back on this year, you can see those small acts of care woven through the days.
Every year asks something new of us. Your body knows what this year was about, even if your mind hasn’t caught up yet.
Maybe this year taught you:
- How strong you are
- How powerful breath can be in tension
- How alignment changes everything
- How movement helps you release what you’ve been carrying
- That showing up imperfectly is still showing up
There is no “perfect” year. There is only learning.
So instead of grading yourself on how consistently you moved or how many classes you took, try asking a different question: How did movement support me this year? I promise, the answers will be more meaningful than any statistic.
Before we move into a fresh calendar, let’s reflect:
- When did I feel most connected to my body this year?
- What surprised me about my strength, flexibility, or endurance?
- Where did movement help me through a challenge?
- What do I want movement to feel like next year?
Some seasons of life allow for long classes, frequent studio visits, and deep work.
Other seasons only have room for:
- A short Dailey Online class before bed
- Shoulder openers between Zoom calls
- A five-minute posture reset while the pasta boils
- One class a week that feels like nourishment for your nervous system
All of that is still consistency. You showed up for your body in the ways you could. That matters far more than a perfect plan.
I feel that movement is a relationship, not a to-do list. And like any relationship, it grows through presence, attention, and care.
This year, you:
- Came to your mat even when you were tired
- Modified when your body asked for it
- Tried something new
- Returned after time away
- Chose connection over perfection
That is the real work. That is what creates strength and longevity. And if you tune in, you can feel it, in your confidence, your posture, your breath, your calm.
As we step into 2026, I hope you carry one truth with you: you don’t need to be perfect to feel good.
You don’t have to wait for January 1st, or Monday, or the “right” time. You already know how to move. You already know how to support yourself. You already know what makes you feel aligned, strong, and grounded. Let next year be about deepening that relationship. Progress is already happening, in every class, every breath, every moment you return to your body.
I’m grateful to move through this journey with you.
With love,
Jill
