The past few years have been full of change, and the health and wellness industry has been at the forefront of adapting to customer needs and changing guidelines. What we have learned is that clients like variety in the workout, and modalities focused on physical and mental benefits are growing in popularity. An online comparison service determined ‘Barre Classes’ to be the world’s most researched fitness class trend between 2005-2020, with over 170,000 global searches in June of 2020 alone.
While the name barre insinuates its connection to ballet, the barre workout offers so much more.
Born out of London from famed dancer Lotte Berk, the barre modality has transformed into a workout focused on small movements to tone and sculpt the body. The sense of community brought on by barre studios across the world has no doubt led to its popularity, but the ability to easily take classes online with little equipment also leads to the attractiveness of this workout.
Over the 22 years that Jill Dailey has been teaching barre and training highly qualified instructors, she realized her true passion and strength is in training qualified teachers. The Dailey Method certification was born from this passion!
Jill Dailey founded The Dailey Method in 2000, the first barre studio on the West Coast, and longest running barre brand in the US. After falling in love with Lotte Burke’s method, Jill used her degree as a kinesiologist to incorporate the focus on neutral spine and alignment of the entire body into the barre workout. This led to an incredibly balanced, safe and challenging workout, The Dailey Method classes grew in popularity and have led to the following it has today.
The average Dailey Method barre student:
- Takes class 3 times per week (online and in-studio)
- Spends $27 on an in-person barre class
- In-studio visits have risen over 75% in the past year
- Dailey Online traffic has sustained an increase of 40%.
- The typical barre student has shown to be a loyal student, with current Dailey Method students showing an average lifetime span of 47 months.
Our training program is fully digital and interactive, allowing for the coveted Dailey Method training without the constraints of a brick and mortar studio.
